tebow’s tears
so, i was lucky enough to know jason; and he was lucky enough to marry holly; so i ended up being lucky enough to get tickets to the sec championship game. great time. coming into the game, i thought that we would beat florida 7 out of 10 times if we played them. hoped the game would be a 7.
so, they drove in from tuscalloosa, we grilled out some burgers and then we headed down to the game. we had great seats right on the 45 yard line. actually, we were sitting right next to the OC’s wife. really awesome.
we were comfortable enough by the 3rd quarter that we went ahead and took our victory pic.
and afterwards the team celebrated on the field.
it was good to see alabam win it’s first SEC title since 99 (i was there in the dome that night as well and then celebrated til all hours out at buckhead saloon with a bunch of great friends). the team played well all season and it was good to see the guys playing with pride again. i wish i knew some of the pundits who had made such a big deal about saban’s hiring – how bama didn’t know what it was doing getting rid of shula, how no one wanted the job, how bama fans were delusional about still being nationally relevant. anyway, if i knew some pundits, i’d ask them how they like them apples.
i was very lucky this season to get to watch the va tech, arkansas, tennessee, and florida. i’ll be skipping the bcs game, but think i’ll probably head over to alabama to get set for the victory celebration!
also, i hope tim tebow recovers soon from the trauma. although, i do feel good, knowing that his tears have been bottled and flown to various 3rd world countries to heal leprosoy, polio and many other terrible ailments.
btw, i just really loved my SEC Championship game video from last year, mostly b/c i am so impressed there was a place called the Houndstooth Saloon right next to Wrigley Field, so i decided to re-post it here.
SEC Championship Game ’08 (From Chicago) from charles breland on Vimeo.
the below video is from this year’s game. it’s long enough that i doubt much of anyone would watch it all the way through, but it’s worth watching the first few seconds, if only to see the triple t (Tim Tebow’s Tears) in real time
