bachelor party – key largo style

Posted in Uncategorized on Nov 08, 2008

i settled on a laid back bachelor party (in large part b/c i’ve had such not a laid back last few months) so we headed down to key largo, for some sun, some fishing and some pool football (yes, it’s back!!!). it was a great spot to chill out and also offers some of the best relaxation in the US and plenty of fresh fish on the menus. i’m so glad that every one was able to come. special times around the pool and watching the bama game (sorry dietze). anyway, some pics from the weekend below.

here’s the view from our condo….place was pretty posh.

captain congeniality casts the net to bring in some bait fish for us

two allvines fighting two fish.

mine was just a little guy……we ate him anyway.

jeremy hauled in a couple of sharks. this one’s bight radius was too small, he wasn’t the shark we were looking for

jeff probably had the fish of the day here….pretty good size for a red snapper.

here we are out in the water where ronnie and jeremy had attempted to bring in a shark that morning.

we went out to hog heaven and had them fry up the mahi mahi and snapper we had caught. the only picture i took of that place was of the two jersey’s hanging inside the door…..they seemed related on some level.

the next day (due to some transportation issues) brad and dietze and i decided just to go to a football game. the dolphins were hosting the seahawks……it was actually a heck of a game. dolphins scored with 2 minutes to go, then stopped the seahawks for the victory.

as with any bachelor party, the highlight of the weekend was (you guessed it) pool football. it is the complete opposite of any concerns anybody’s wives and fiances have whenever their spouse goes on a bachelor party. it is the sport of champions. the sport of gods. it IS pool football!!!! oh, it is also 5 minutes long, so unless you were playing, you probalby don’t care, but it’s worth it, just to see the clamato chug at the end.

i can’t defend it, except to say, there are two kinds of men, those who have fought on the poolfootball gridiron, and those who haven’t.

here’s the photo album from the weekend nothing too special there, but linked to anyway…..thanks again to all the guys for coming. many of you have meant so much to me for quite a while now……a ton of people who i’ve been through a ton with. thanks for taking off the 3 days to spend together……one last time as a bachelor and all his old married friends : )
