we headed over to a big party for halloween, but first we congregated at trey’s pad. trey’s costume pretty much freaked me out. my costume was something of a going away party for my beard, it had fulfilled it’s final mission by allowing me to costume myself as a famous artist. my costume ended up being quite a divining rod for me. if somebody had no idea who i was, i was skeptical of them, if they thought i was picasso, da vinci, or monet (who the hell even knows what monet looked like???) i was pretty sure we’d never end up being close friends who discuss world issues like ethanol or environmentally responsible farming with each other.
here are some pics of us chilling at trey’s place prior to the party
included in the team photo is a girl who went as the guy who sells flowers at west paces and 285. that’s a pretty brilliant costume.
here, i get in a little work before we head out to the party.
lillis was out at the party as well, and has always been a big fan of my work, so we stopped for a photo together as well.

so, in an almost stunning chain of events, lillis and i were able to coordinate schedules with drew and blake to get together for a weekend in asheville. we were able to catch the tail end of the best part of the fall season there. it was not too cold outside, but the leaves were gorgeous. we stayed at a little place called green mountain b&b that’s all organic and doesn’t serve meat (not my choice, but lovely). we ate at an awesome restaurant called tupelo honey cafe there in asheville across from the “drum circle”. the next day we went out along the blue ridge parkway. we went hiking and just drove/walked around checking out the fall colors. below are some pics from that day.
here is the full album.

pictured here are lillis and i in front of the chapel. not pictured are her family, who were in town for the wedding or berry college (which was beautiful). however, lillis has posted plenty of pictures of her family visit along with some of me dancing with her mom. so, see her for those.
linked here is one of lillis, her sister and me. it was nice to get to meet her family and sort through where she comes from : ) that’s about all i have to say about this post. oh, wait, i did get invited to go play in a drainage ditch in lubbock and i did have her grandmother did threaten to kill me if i didn’t treat lillis right. i’m hoping those two offers aren’t related, and that at least the second one was a joke. regardless, i am minding both my p’s and my q’s from this point forward
