pictured here is trey being a big slacker before our trek to the big dunes. he was a big slacker and slept til almost six AM. luckily it was only 100 degrees or so at that time so he was resting comfortably!

men among dunes • 08.07.07
here rod and trey mug for the camera atop a pretty good sized dune. they were amazing and it was a much better day than the previous one…. no lightheadedness, no problems forming sentences and no fear of dissentary. all in all a huge upgrade. we left the dunes and went to a gorgeous hotel in a giant oasis along a river. huge palm trees an amazing chef, 88 degree weather and a POOL!!! holy cow, it was nice to not be sweaty or sticky for the first time in days! we explored an amazing old caravan town, then bedded down to get some sleep before our 5 am airport departure and Paris!
back at camp • 08.05.07
Back safely@ camp – sort of. For a number of reasons, including the possibility of me succumbing to dehydration, we're back at camp. However, we are in a huge dust storm. this has been a real blessing, however, that we decided to come back here to camp. being in the storm out in the dunes and unprotected would not have been good! tomorrow we see the big dunes and head out of the desert.
