early date

all right, i’m a little behind, but here goes. dateline june 11, i invited relatively new girlfriend emily over for an EARLY morning date. it was a secret date, and she was NOT excited about getting up at 6:30 on a saturday…..but she was a good sport, and so i’m not putting the early morning picture of emily drinking hot chocolate in the blog.

so, in a slight drizzle we walked over to chihooly and entered through the parkside entrance. there was an exhibit there of model trains and scaled models of all of the major buildings in atlanta built from tree bark and leaves. it was really amazing and emily loved it. here are some of the buildings

we also checked out the gardens a little bit because emily had never been before (i know, i was shocked too).
here are a couple of pictures of orchids, a unique plant, and finally the chihooly blown glass piece that was donated to the gardens after that exhibit left.

afterwards, i took emily back to the house and showed her what breakfast was supposed to look like. i made her muffins and eggs and bacon. it was yummy. as ice cube said “today was a good day.”
